Finance Minister Kevin Falcon announced his retirement today after 12 years as an MLA. His year 1 pension will be a healthy $62,893, for a lifetime total (to age 80) of $1.09 million.
Here’s the latest tally of B.C. MLAs elected in 2009, and what we believe they will collect in pensions. Remember, pensions increase by the rate of inflation every year. A lifetime estimate assumes the individual lives to age 80. This does not include the 15 month severance package.
We will post new blogs as this list of retiring MLAs grows.
